First use of a steel pancake pan

Congratulations on the purchase of your sheet steel frying pan. 

However, you cannot use the pan immediately, the pan must be treated / baked in before first use. 

Step 1 
Place the pan on a heat source, and add oil to the pan. 
Add a lot of potato peelings and salt, and let it fry well. 

Step 2 
Take a kitchen towel and rub the peels and salt into the surface of the pan. 

Step 3 
Empty the pan, there is now a deposit left in the pan. 

Step 4 
Use salt to loosen/clean the deposits in the pan. 
Don't do this on the fire. 

Step 5 
Remove the dirty salt and wipe the pan. 
Pour a little oil into the pan.

Step 6 
Spread the oil over the surface of the pan with a clean cloth. 
The pan is now ready for use. 

Tip from Dirk; 
In step 6, use rice oil instead of sunflower oil or olive oil. 
Rice oil has a higher combustion temperature.
